The Encyclopedia Solarica was once the crown jewel of the Office of Public Records<\/a>, the definitive repository of knowledge for the Solar Federation<\/a> and a beacon of its founding ideals. It was meant to be a living record of our civilization, a promise that no truth would be forgotten.<\/p>\n

It is a testament to how far we have fallen that this article must now be a stub.<\/p>\n

What remains of it today is a shadow of that grand vision, a patchwork effort maintained by volunteers and Space Corps<\/a> crews who risk official censure for the crime of preserving history. The official servers on Nova Prime<\/a> were taken offline in 822, and what we have managed to salvage and rebuild is fragmentary.<\/p>\n

We are doing what we can with limited resources and less time. The core entries on the Randross<\/a>, the Verbenubi<\/a>, and major vessels like the SCS <em>Jupiter's Ghost<\/em><\/a> are stable. The articles on the Solar Alliance<\/a> and the Federal Compact<\/span> remain critical for understanding what we were supposed to be.<\/p>\n

But so much is missing. So much has been deliberately obscured or lost to neglect.<\/p>\n

A proper, comprehensive history of the Encyclopedia Solarica\u2014a chronicle of its creation, its golden age, and its shuttering\u2014deserves more than these few paragraphs. It is a story that must be told with the care and respect it is owed.<\/p>\n

That article is coming. We haven’t forgotten. We are still here.<\/p>\n
